What Is Detox

The Detox plan is a diet which consists mostly of fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. The plan aims at decongesting the intestine and promoting a healthy body. The diet recommends that you also cut out coffee, tea, diary products and high proteins like meat. According to Ko Chohan the developer of the diet these are acid-forming and harmful to good health because the body is mostly alkaline in composition. The plan is recommended for 28 days at a time.

How Does It Work?

The detox plan is about cleansing the congested intestine. The plan works on the idea that the colon has 10-12 pounds of waste stuck to the inner walls. Ko Chohan believes that 'this build up does not pass through the body with everyday bowel movements' and requires special techniques to dissolve the sticky substance that binds them in the body. Believer's of the diet feel that the cleansing of the detox gives the body the chance to regenerate healthy blood cells and skin tissue. The detox plan concentrates on a plan of well being and claims that if the body is functioning well it will discard any unnecessary weight if it needs to.

How much do You Lose?

Because the nature of the diet is a detox not a weight loss programme, loses have been very different. Carol voderman lost two dress sizes in a year.

Are There any possible side effects?

The side effects listed by people on the diet were malaise and headaches. Ko also emphasised that the body organs especially the liver and kidneys require support to process the toxins and that's why they recommend dieters to drink plenty of water and milkthistle.
