Slim fast is a calorie controlled meal replacement diet plan which
involves replacing two meals a day with either a slim fast milk
shake, soup or pasta. On top of this it is recommenced that dieters
have a 600 calorie meal and 1-3 calorie controlled snacks a day.
How does it work?
Simply by replacing two meals a day with one of the slimfast choices
combined with the snacks and a 600 calorie meal, it is worked out
that each dieter will receive around 1200-1400 calories a day. This
is considerably lower than people would need to maintain their weight
and so lose weight.
How much weight do you lose?
Ideally the plan aims for dieters to lose 1-2 pounds a week. However
heavier people, especially men may find they lose more than this.
Are there any possible side effects?
Some slimmer's find the structure of the diet plan very easy to
follow because of the lack of choice. However for some it is easier
to follow a plan that has a wider range of food. Along with this
it is difficult for dieters to get in their five recommended portions
of fruit or veg in just one meal. Dieters have found problems once
they change back to regular meals after they have reached their
target. To add to this there is not a slimfast diet group to join
for added support. For this reason some dieters have found weight
to go straight back on.
